đŸ”ĨHotkeys

Hotkeys give you faster access to the definitions you use daily. Much like keyboard shortcuts, these keybinds let you run definitions without needing the Orkestra panel to be open. You need to be logged in to access the cloud definitions, but if your definitions are local, you don't need to be logged in.

Hotkeys can be user-specific and entirely custom for you and your work style, but you can export those keybinds out for others to adopt. When you first look at the Hotkeys section in the Orkestra desktop version, you won't see any hotkeys (duh), and you won't be able to add any either.

Adding Hotkeys

  1. Before we begin, ensure the "Enable HotKeys" toggle is on.

  2. To add a HotKey, you need to be in one of the design software programs that uses Orkestra; for this example, we'll use Revit.

  3. Please navigate to the definition and right-click on it; you'll see the button.

  4. Once you click the "Create HotKey" button, you'll be presented with a UI where you can select the key you want to associate with the definition. Alt will be used as the default first key you enter.

  5. Once you've picked a letter, symbol, or number, click "Create" to finish the command.

  6. If you revisit the HotKey section in the desktop version of Orkestra, you'll now see your HotKeys listed.
