# Create a Cloud based WallType library

Create an Orkestra Space, build a bound OkPy app, and share Revit wall types.

### Create a shared wall type library

Create an Orkestra Space and bind an OkPy app to it. Then build a wall type library that shares Revit types across projects.

An Orkestra **Space** provides cloud file storage and a document database. Your bound app can use both across projects and machines.

You will create a Space, build the app, publish wall types, and load them elsewhere.

### 1. Create a Space

1. In the Orkestra web app, select **Hosting**.
2. Select **+** beside the search field.

![The Hosting section with existing Spaces and the + button to create a new one.](https://orkestrareleasecontent.s3.eu-west-3.amazonaws.com/docgenuploads/orkestra-spaces-2026-07-20T11-47-02/01-the-hosting-section-with-existing-spaces.png)

3. Enter a clear **Name** and an optional **Description**.
4. Select **Create**.

| Setting     | Description                                                               |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Name | A short, recognizable label for the Space (example: "Wall Type Library"). |
| Description | Free-text note about the app or purpose of the Space. |

Orkestra opens the new Space and shows its **Space ID** beneath the name. The Space includes **Files**, **Data**, **Apps**, **Access**, and **Usage** tabs.

{% hint style="info" %}
Use the copy icon beside **Space ID** when an external integration needs it.
{% endhint %}

### 2. Create an app bound to the Space

1. Open the Space's **Apps** tab.
2. Select **New app**.
3. Name the app. Admins can also select a **Workspace**.
4. Select **Create**.

![The New App in this Space dialog, which creates a placeholder OkPy tool already bound to the Space.](https://orkestrareleasecontent.s3.eu-west-3.amazonaws.com/docgenuploads/orkestra-spaces-2026-07-20T11-47-02/04-the-new-app-in-this-space-dialog-which-c.png)

Orkestra creates a placeholder `.okpy` tool already bound to the Space. Its backend connection needs no additional setup.

### 3. Build the app in OkPy

Open the tool in OkPy. Choose **Python** or **C#** in **New App**, then select **Start building**.

The starter code connects through `OkSpace.Connect()`. Use `space.Files` for storage and `space.Db` for the JSON document database.

Describe the app in the agent chat. Ask for a cloud wall type library with materials, layers, textures, thumbnails, and push/pull actions.

{% hint style="info" %}
Specify the data model, interface, and actions. A detailed prompt reduces follow-up work.
{% endhint %}

The agent builds and verifies the tool. It then offers **Test** for a live run.

### 4. Test and publish wall types

Select **Test** to open **Wall Type Library** in test mode. Changes are undone when you close the window.

The **This Project** tab lists wall types from the active model. The **Cloud Library** tab lists the types in your Space.

Select individual cards or use **Select all**. Then select **Push to Cloud**. The button shows the number of selected types.

The tool uploads each type and reports progress in the console. The cloud list then reads back the saved types and materials.

When happy with the tool functionnality, save the tool. Enter a **Commit message** and select **Confirm**.

### 5. Load the library in another project

The app is bound to the Space, not a Revit model. Open another project and launch **Wall Type Library**.

![A fresh Revit project with the bound Wall Type Library tool available in the Orkestra panel.](https://orkestrareleasecontent.s3.eu-west-3.amazonaws.com/docgenuploads/orkestra-spaces-2026-07-20T11-47-02/14-a-fresh-revit-project-with-the-bound-wal.png)

Open **Cloud Library** to load the shared wall types into the new project.

![The Cloud Library tab in a new project, showing the wall types loaded from the Space.](https://orkestrareleasecontent.s3.eu-west-3.amazonaws.com/docgenuploads/orkestra-spaces-2026-07-20T11-47-02/15-the-cloud-library-tab-in-a-new-project-s.png)

Pulled types retain their assembly definition. **Edit Assembly** shows their layers, functions, materials, and thicknesses.

![The Edit Assembly dialog for a pulled wall type, showing its layers and materials.](https://orkestrareleasecontent.s3.eu-west-3.amazonaws.com/docgenuploads/orkestra-spaces-2026-07-20T11-47-02/16-the-edit-assembly-dialog-for-a-pulled-wa.png)

{% hint style="warning" %}
Each machine needs Orkestra 2.1.1.5 or later for this app's push and pull workflow.
{% endhint %}
