If you're getting this error message from Revit when trying to open the Orkestra browser, it means that Orkestra wasn't able to initialize correctly. In the vast majority of cases, this is due to the the information saved in UserSettings.xml.
Close any instance of Revit / Civil3d/ Rhino/ Orkestra Desktop App you may have opened
In the windows explorer, go to %APPDATA%\Orkestra
Find the UserSettings.xml file and delete it
Restart Revit / Civil 3D / Rhino. Everything should be working now.
In most cases that we were able to track, the issue was due to some local workspace settings, local QuickAccess or Local QuickAccess logo pointing at locations that were not available anymore or inaccessible (work from home etc.). We've fixed this particular issue in 1.9 releases.
If this keeps happening to you and you don't think it's because of local workspace/quickaccess settings, please send a copy of your UserSettings.xml file to [email protected] before deleting it! We'd like to take a look at it!
